# Momentan — FAQ > Clear answers about Momentan, the personal relationship app for iPhone and iPad. ## Getting Started ### What is Momentan? Momentan is a personal relationship app that helps you remember the people and interactions that matter. You can capture moments, track birthdays, keep richer person profiles, organize lists and tasks, record voice memos, and get gentle reconnect nudges. ### What platforms is Momentan available on? Momentan is available on iPhone and iPad through the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/momentan/id6748038675). A web companion at [app.momentan.app](https://app.momentan.app) lets you work with synced structured records in a browser. Android is planned. iOS widgets require iOS 16 or later. ### Do I need an account? Yes. Sign up with email and password, Apple, or Google. Your account syncs supported structured records across devices. Photos, videos, contact photos, and voice recordings stay on your device. ## Features ### What is a moment? A moment is an interaction or memory worth remembering — a call, dinner, trip, or quick catch-up. You can add notes, media, a location, and the people involved. Device-local media stays on the device where it was captured. ### What is an AI briefing? An AI briefing is a concise overview of a person based on the moments and details you have saved. It is meant to help you recall context before a catch-up, not replace your notes or judgment. ### What is the AI Agent? The AI Agent can answer questions and help capture information you request. On iPhone or iPad, press and hold the add button in Moments, Lists, an open list, or Notes. It uses that screen as context to understand whether you want a moment, list, tasks for that list, or note. AI features may send the bounded information needed for your request to authorized service providers as explained in the Privacy Policy. ### Can I import my contacts? Yes. When you choose Import or Refresh and grant contacts permission, Momentan creates or refreshes profiles from the contacts available to the app. After that, while permission remains enabled, Momentan may check for new or updated contacts when the app starts. Contact photos stay on your device; imported structured fields sync with your account. ### How do reminders and widgets work? You can add birthdays and relationship reminders to people. Momentan can surface upcoming birthdays, recent moments, lists, and reconnect nudges through notifications and iOS home-screen or lock-screen widgets. Available widget sizes and notification options depend on your device and settings. ### How does voice transcription work? Voice transcription is optional and off by default. If you enable it, the audio needed for transcription is sent to the disclosed transcription provider. You can turn the feature off in Settings → Privacy. The original voice recording remains device-local. ## Privacy, Data, and Billing ### Who can see my data? Your records are private to your account and are not public to other Momentan users. Momentan has no public profiles or social feed. Authorized service providers may process limited data when needed to operate sync, security, support, or an AI feature you request, subject to the Privacy Policy. ### Where is my data stored? Supported structured records are stored on your device and sync to Momentan's service so they can be available across signed-in devices and the web companion. Photos, videos, contact photos, and voice recordings stay on your device except when you deliberately use a feature that needs a bounded upload, such as optional transcription. Data sent to the service is protected in transit, and hosted data is protected at rest. ### Can I export my data? Yes. Go to Profile → Account & Data → Export Data. Momentan creates a password-encrypted backup of supported structured records. Device-local photos, videos, contact photos, and voice recordings are not included, so keep separate copies of media you want to preserve. ### Is Momentan free? Momentan is free to download. Free accounts can create up to 10 moments per rolling 7 days; manually created and AI-created moments both count. Momentan Pro removes that moment limit. Current pricing and renewal terms appear in App Store checkout. Subscriptions are billed through Apple. You can manage or cancel from the in-app Customer Center or your Apple Account subscription settings. Deleting your Momentan account does not itself cancel an App Store subscription. ### How do I delete my account? Go to Profile → Account & Data → Delete Account and complete email-code confirmation. Momentan deletes the account and production data covered by the deletion flow, removes the active on-device vault, and allows residual encrypted backups to expire under the Privacy Policy.
